Mt. Sawi and Dingalan Tour 2018
The weather before we pushed through was never the best signal for anyone to go outdoors much more the weather advisories along the way. Yet we monitored the chance of precipitation at our destination from time to time for us to have a window of hope that we can still enjoy the event despite the ensuing storm. Believer and non-believer alike prayed for weather to improve before we commenced the hike. At times rain will just pour down like heaven's going to pour everything on us and at some points, the heavens will just stay quiet with just a gentle cool breeze to comfort our troubled hearts.
It was almost 6AM when we started hiking at one of the gloomiest named mountains we'll ever scale. Mt. Sawi was aptly named when the locals derived a story of a broken-hearted girl who commited suicide by hanging herself on one of the summit's cloud covered trees. Thus the name "Sawi" which means loss or death. Or with what the millenials and old generations still use "sawi" colloquially for being heartbroken or for having an unlucky romance with someone.
